I originally designed this free crochet wreath pattern for the 3D granny squares book and I am delighted to share it with you here now!
This square would make a lovely dishcloth topper or a festive cushion, or even mounted in a shadow box to hang on the wall.
C2/2.75 mm hook
Stitch marker (optional)
DK Cotton yarn (such as Paintbox Yarns*) in the following colors:
Cream (Paintbox yarns Light Champagne)
Red (Paintbox yarns Red Wine)
Dark Green (Paintbox yarn Racing Green)
Light Green (Paintbox yarn Lime Green)
- Finished size: 13cm square using the hook and yarn suggested and is compatible with my other granny squares.
- This pattern uses US terminology (see abbreviations here)

4-dc-popcorn stitch: work 4 dc into the same stitch. Remove your hook from the last dc and insert it, from front to back, into the top of the first dc of the popcorn stitch. Insert the hook into the loop from the last dc and pull it through to make the popcorn stitch puff. Change to the next color by doing a chain st.
3-dc puff stitch: *Yarn over and insert the hook into the stitch. Yarn over and pull back through the stitch (like a dc), yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * 5 times and there will be 6 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all of the loops on the hook
picot: ch 2, slst into the second ch from hook. Continue with the next st.
