Crochet Christmas Tree Assembly

This crochet Christmas tree pattern is a very simple construction with a triangle tree and a small square trunk. Place the green triangle on top of the square, with just a little bit of the square peeking out as the trunk. Stitch in place (I find it easier to use sewing thread to stitch the trunk in place, but you can also use a yarn tail if you prefer).

Decorate the tree with gold stars: Thread 2 strands (you will need to split the embroidery floss) of gold thread onto your sewing needle. Secure the thread at the back of the Christmas tree. Stitch the stars in place. (I like to first make a ‘+’ and then a ‘x’)

Attach the star sequin: Secure the sewing thread at the back of the crochet Christmas tree, near the top. Insert your needle through the top of the tree and pull the sewing thread through. Then thread on the star sequin followed by the small bead and push both of them to the bottom of your thread. Note that your bead must be slightly bigger than the hole in the sequin for this method to work! Then skip the bead and insert your needle back through the hole in the sequin (don’t go back through the bead). Pull your thread to the back to secure the star in place. Secure your thread at the back of the tree and fasten off.
